Anti-Sebum Evaluation
This test method used to evaluate the efficacy of hair products in reducing sebum levels on the scalp. Sebum is a natural oil produced by the sebaceous glands in the scalp, and excessive sebum production can lead to an oily scalp and hair.
The test is performed using a Sebumeter® SM 815, which measures the sebum level of the scalp before and after application of the product. The product is applied to the scalp and left for a specified period of time before the sebum level is measured again. The reduction in sebum levels is then evaluated and compared to a control group that did not receive the product.
The results of this test can provide valuable information for hair care product manufacturers in developing effective anti-sebum products to address the problem of oily scalp and hair.
