Colour Retention
The Colour Retention test is an in vitro test is conducted on hair tresses to evaluate the changes in hair colour after repeated hair washes. This test is performed using Chromameter ‘CR-400’.
The tresses are washed with a shampoo that is representative of the product’s use and rinsed with water. The hair tresses are then left to dry at room temperature. The colour change of the tresses is evaluated using the Chroma Meter ‘CR-400’ and the readings are recorded.
The difference in colour before and after the washes is compared to determine the effectiveness of the product in maintaining hair colour. This test helps to determine the effectiveness of the product in retaining the hair colour after successive washes, providing valuable information to hair care companies to support claims of effectiveness of their product.
